Connor's footwork is a strong point and his weight shifts even as he sees the move coming, but now their legs are hooked, and he can feel she's off balance, so he turns the trick back and tries to knock her feet out from under her, and at the same time brings the butt-end of his sword down hard on the hand the holds the shinai.
