"Damnit." Connor rolls to his feet again and shifts one ankle with a quiet pop. It's not broken, but it is sprained. It'll only take him seconds to recover, but that's all it takes for Nick to get in striking range, too. He keeps up his blade defensively, but footwork is out of the question, and that makes his dodge an awkward one. He parries Nick's blade a second too late.
