In friendly sparring sessions, Connor might be willing to call an end to things. Duncan might even embarrass him by calling a halt, because otherwise their matches can go on too long and get sloppy. That's the trouble when you're evenly matched. Of course, he and Duncan have killed each other by accident in sparring before, but Connor's always sure he'll wake up again to his kinsman's sheepish smile.
