Kairos is very nice, and he's glad of the place to stay, but after five years of wandering Connor gets restless easily. His nightmares are back, if not as bad as they used to be, so he's restless and tired, which isn't a good combination. Teaching and sparring with Jelani helps occupy his time, though, and so does cooking for Kairos. He still has too much spare time, so he sits on the fringes of the Nexus, and watches, and puts off going home to his own world.

"...With magic, you mean?" He's a little curious about this village she's mentioned. Magic is mostly a thing of fairy tales, where he's from... but so are immortals, so he tries to keep an open mind.

"Well...." She wrinkles her pug nose. "They call it magic. But they call my stuff magic too, and I know it's not. So I don't know."

"Aw, I don't know about that. Can't there be different kinds of magic? What isn't magic to one person, might be to somebody else." After all, magic was the simple explanation he gave Rachel about himself, until she was old enough for the details.

"My stuff isn't magic," she says with grave small child seriousness. But then she brightens and leans over to chase a ladybug across his knee with her finger.

"...What stuff is that?" He watches, wondering idly where the ladybug came from.

"My dragon stuff. The feeling 'n hearing stuff, and the teleporping, and the sparkles." She frowns a bit as the ladybug flies away. "I wasn't trying to hurt you, stupid bug!"

"She's just off to see to her children. Sparkles...?" He looks a little amused.
